Greetings!

Power to the People
Due to the overwhelmig power of people coming together and volunteering, this year’s SF Carnaval was able to come off with flying colors. I would like to thank John Callloway, Camilo Landau. Richard Segovia and Dr Annie Rodriguez for helping to put together the entertainment for this year’s event. We would also like to thank all of the groups who gave of their time and talent to this community driven effort to bring the sounds of the street to the Mission, as well as big thanks to Ana B and Jaime for being there all weekend volunteering at the main stage.

Tony Lindsay

Tony Lindsay’s Ray Charles Projet at Silo’s – This Friday and at Club Fox – This Saturday

You have several chances to catch the soulful Tony Linday this weekend. And these shows are not to be missed! After 20 years as the lead vocalist for Santana, Tony Lindsay has garnered 11 Grammy awards, traveled on several world tours and

recorded on seven of their CDs. The current tour involves Santana’s First Rock Residency: an exclusive two-year deal for 36 shows with AEG at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel and Casino’s concert hall “The Joint,” which began May 27, 2009. When not on tour with Santana, Lindsay performs at various local venues and festivals and in between tours he is currently recording his fourth Solo CD. Saturday’s show also features special guest Tom Politzer, a world renowned saxophone player, and long time member of the legendary soul orchestra Tower Of Power.

Salvador Santana Weekend Special

Fiesta en la Calle

It’s a double hitter weekend, with also two chances to see Salvador Santana and his band, freshly back in NorCal. He’ll be performing with Scribe Project at the beautiful Sweetwater in Mill Valley on Friday, and then kicking off the outdoor free summer Festival en la Calle in downtown Sacramento with Blanca and Ruckatan. Get on your dancing shoes.

Plus, we are going to raffle off a guitar on that day, signed by Sammy Hagar and all of the bands, and graciously donated by Campari America and Cabo Wabo Tequila. To get in the raffle you simply need to purchase a CD from either Salvador Santana, Ruckatan or Blanca.

More photos and other events can be found on our Facebook page.

We look forward to welcoming you at a show soon,

If our history can challenge the next wave of musicians to keep moving and changing, to keep spiritually hungry and horny, that’s what it’s all about.” ~ Carlos Santana
